What's not included
Representing you to HMRC, or handling an enquiry into the substance of your claim. If HMRC queries a position rather than asking for a document, that's specialist work and we'll quote for it separately or refer you on.
We also don't give tax advice. We check documents against published guidance and tell you what we find.
If your build doesn't qualify for the scheme, we'll tell you before you pay anything. An extension or a renovation of an existing dwelling generally can't be claimed, and we'd rather say so than take your money.
Is it worth it?
On a typical owner-managed build the claim is somewhere between £20,000 and £40,000. The question isn't really the fee — it's whether a couple of hundred pounds is a sensible price for not finding out in month twenty-three that a year of invoices were addressed to the wrong name.
If you'd rather do it yourself, the guides cover everything you need. They're free and they always will be.
