You're trusting us with financial documents. Here's exactly how they're handled.
Only you can see them
Access is enforced by the database itself, not just the app, so a bug in our code can't show one account's documents to another.
Stored in London
Your documents and data are held in London and encrypted, both in transit and at rest. Invoices are sent securely to an AI service to be read: it doesn't use them to train its models and deletes them within 30 days.
Never shared or sold
We don't sell your data or give it to anyone for their own use. The services that help us run Footings (hosting, email and the AI that reads your invoices) handle it on our behalf, and are listed in our privacy notice. If a case needs specialist review, that happens with your knowledge.
Yours to take or delete
Kept for as long as your account is open. Download everything whenever you like, or ask us to delete your account and we'll do it within 30 days.
Spotted a security problem? Email security@usefootings.co.uk. We'll respond quickly, and we won't take issue with anyone reporting in good faith.
